Essence
Gate 40 is the gate of the provider — the heart's willingness to do the work that supports the community, in exchange for being recognized and valued. It is the gate that says 'I will do this for you, and in return I need to be seen.'
When this gate is defined
You provide. You do the work that supports the family or team. Pairs with Gate 37 in the Solar Plexus for the friendship and emotional bond that gives the providing meaning.
The shadow side
Providing without the bond. Self-sacrifice without recognition becomes resentment. Working for people who don't see what you're doing.
Working with this gate
The providing is conditional, and that's correct. You do for those who see you doing. The work is choosing the right community to invest in — and withdrawing from communities that take without seeing.
