Essence
Gate 38 is the gate of the fighter — the root pressure to oppose what threatens what matters. It is the gate of struggle for purpose, the energy that won't let go of a cause worth fighting for.
When this gate is defined
You have the energy to fight when fighting is right. Pairs with Gate 28 in the Spleen for the discrimination about which fights are worthy.
The shadow side
Fighting everything. Or fighting nothing. The shadow is misallocation of the energy — to causes too small or too lost.
Working with this gate
The fighter energy is real and finite. 28's whisper tells you which battles are worth it; 38 has the fuel to engage them. Pair them — fight chosen battles fully, walk away from the rest.
